One of Italy’s most popular rappers, Sfera Ebbasta is known for his flashy, swaggering blend of pop and trap. He was the biggest-selling musician in the nation in the 2010s and set a record by making it to the top of the Italian singles chart 20 times. Despite quitting school, it didn’t take him long to find the resources necessary to launch a lucrative rap career in Italy. Groves spent ten years honing his skills with his good buddy and producer Charlie Charles; by the age of 23, he was recognized as a rising star in the Italian rap industry. Together with Charles, they created the company Billionheadz, under which they marketed products and music. Their debut album, Emergenza Mixtape Vol. 1, was released in 2013.
In 2015, the first studio album XDVR was released as a free download, and it was later expanded as XDVR Reloaded. It finally became platinum-certified, reached the Top 40 in Italy, and helped trap music become more well-liked there.
